Terms.

Last updated: 10 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of the recroll.app website (the “site”) and to joining the RecRoll waitlist. Please read them. By using the site or joining the waitlist, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

The RecRoll app itself is not available yet. When it launches, it will have its own terms, and buying a subscription will also be subject to Apple’s App Store terms. These terms don’t cover the app.

1. Who we are

The site is run by RecRoll, based in the United Kingdom (“RecRoll”, “we”, “us”). You can contact us at hello@recroll.app.

2. The waitlist

2.1 Who can join. You must be at least 16, and the email address must be your own.

2.2 What joining means. By joining, you ask us to email you about RecRoll, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.

2.3 No promise to launch. Joining the waitlist is free. It doesn’t create a purchase, a reservation or a contract to supply the app. We intend to launch RecRoll, but we can’t promise that it will launch, when, in which countries, on which devices, or with which features. Plans for an unreleased product change.

2.4 Early access and the founding-member deal. Early access and the founding-member deal are offers we intend to make to people on the waitlist. Until we announce their details in writing (for example, by email to the waitlist), they’re not binding and no particular discount, price, duration or benefit is promised. When we announce them:

  • they’ll come with their own terms, including who is eligible, any limit on numbers, and any deadline;
  • they’ll apply only to the email address that joined the waitlist, and can’t be transferred, sold or exchanged for cash;
  • one person may only claim them once, however many email addresses they use;
  • anything bought through the App Store is also subject to Apple’s rules, which may affect how an offer can be applied.

2.5 Removal. We may remove an email address from the waitlist, or refuse an offer, if it appears to be fake, automated, someone else’s, or one of many addresses used by the same person to claim more than once.

2.6 Ending the waitlist. We may close the waitlist at any time. If RecRoll doesn’t launch, we’ll let you know and delete the waitlist as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Using the site

You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:

  • break any law, or use the site to break anyone else’s rights;
  • try to get unauthorised access to the site, its hosting or any system connected to it;
  • disrupt the site, overload it, or introduce viruses or other harmful code;
  • submit email addresses that aren’t yours, or use bots or scripts to join the waitlist;
  • copy large parts of the site, or scrape it with automated tools, except for normal search engine indexing;
  • use the site’s content to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models without our written permission.

4. Our content

4.1 Ownership. The site’s content, including the articles, text, images, design, the RecRoll name and the RecRoll logo, belongs to us or the people who licensed it to us, and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.

4.2 What you may do. You may view and print pages for your own use, and share links to the site. You may quote short extracts from our articles with credit to RecRoll and a link to the original. Anything else needs our written permission.

4.3 Trademarks. “RecRoll” and the RecRoll logo may not be used without our permission. iPhone, App Store and Apple are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. RecRoll is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Apple. Other names and trademarks mentioned in our articles belong to their owners, and mentioning them doesn’t mean they endorse us.

5. Our articles

Our articles give general tips about scripting, delivery and filming. They’re for general information only and aren’t professional advice. Information about other apps, products and prices was correct when we checked it, which we say where it matters, but it may have changed since. Check the details yourself before relying on them.

The site may link to websites we don’t control. We’re not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link doesn’t mean we endorse the site.

7. Availability and changes to the site

We provide the site free of charge. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice. We don’t promise the site will always be available or free of errors or viruses. Please use your own virus protection.

8. Our responsibility to you

8.1 What we don’t exclude. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can’t be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

8.2 What we’re not responsible for. The site and the waitlist are free and provided “as is”, for personal use. To the extent the law allows:

  • we’re not responsible for any loss that wasn’t reasonably foreseeable when you used the site;
  • we’re not responsible for any business loss, including loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill or data, or business interruption;
  • we’re not responsible for loss caused by a virus or other harmful material that reaches your device through the site, if we took reasonable care;
  • we’re not responsible for loss caused by RecRoll not launching, launching later than expected, or launching without a feature or offer you expected.

8.3 United States. If you live in the United States, to the fullest extent your state’s law allows, the site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and our total liability to you for any claim about the site or the waitlist is limited to US$50. Some states don’t allow these exclusions or limits, so some of them may not apply to you.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the app launches. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The version on the site when you use it is the one that applies. If a change materially affects the waitlist, we’ll tell people on it by email.

10. General

10.1 Law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

10.2 Courts. The courts of England and Wales may hear any dispute about these terms or the site. If you’re a consumer, you can also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and you keep the protection of any mandatory laws of that country.

10.3 If part of these terms isn’t valid. If a court decides part of these terms is invalid, the rest stays in force.

10.4 Not enforcing a term. If we don’t enforce one of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.

10.5 Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to someone else, for example to a company we set up to run RecRoll. This won’t reduce your rights under these terms.

10.6 Third parties. Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.

10.7 Privacy. How we use your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
